Specifications and Prerequisites

Desktop Hardware (for guidance)

• Core i5 (2.0 GHz or higher)
• 16 GB Ram
• Non cloud versions of MS Word
• Windows 11

Database Server Minimum Recommended Specification

• Intel 2.4 GHz 8 Core  - at least 9th Gen
• 32 GB RAM (the more RAM the better and should be reviewed as user volumes increase)
• 500 GB space for data and log files
• 1 Gbps NIC
• Windows Server 2019 Standard
• SQL Server 2019 Standard

Application Server Minimum Recommended Specification

• Intel 2.4 GHz 8 Core  - at least 9th Gen
• 32 GB RAM
• 2 GB for application install files
• Additional 200 GB Swap file space (for temporary storage of processed files) - This should not be on the C: drive but can be any other drive letter.
• 1 Gbps NIC
• Windows Server 2019 Standard
• .NET Framework Version 4.8
• Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Package 2015-2022 (x64) available here.
• Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Package 2015-2022 (x86) available here.
• IIS installed as per the guide here
• SSL certificate to cover this server (domain wildcard or specific)
• Microsoft Web Deploy v4.0 - available from here
• Microsoft ASP.NET Core 9.0 Runtime (v9.0) or later - Hosting Bundle from here

Notes

Database server performance is the primary driver of the end user experience and generally determines the maximum number of users the system can support.

Application server performance is not mission critical, however, a lower specification machine will take longer to process PDF and MS Word documents
