TonerSaver Installation

Note - although the steps to install on x86 and x64 are very similar they are not identical. Make sure you use the supplied file names and command lines exactly as specified or Kappris may work intermittently or not at all.

The required files are available from the Kutana ftp site. Details are in the sections below.

Installing on x86

Go to ftp://extranet.kutana.co.uk/Kappris
and download and install the latest x86 version of Kappris, currently Kappris.x86.1.7.11.5835.msi, making sure you have a valid Kappris licence.xml file. Skip this step if you already have the latest Kappris installed.
Go to ftp://extranet.kutana.co.uk/Kappris/TonerSaver
and download the zip file 20121225_TonerSaver3(1503)_client_x86.zip
Expand the contents of the TonerSave zip file into a new local folder.
Run an Administrative Command Prompt and then cd into the new folder. Run the following command at the Administrative Command Prompt. Note - these command line switches are important. Also note this may complete so quickly you may think it hasn't done anything.

msiexec /norestart /quiet MENU_LOGVIEW=0 MENU_SETTING=0 INSTALLDIR="C:\Program Files\Kutana\TonerControl" /l*vx log01.txt /i TonerSaver3.msi
```
Go to ftp://extranet.kutana.co.uk/Kappris/TonerSaver
and download and install TonerSaverPrerequisites.x86.5464.msi The folder also contains the zipped msi file if you or your firewall prefer that format.

Installing on x64

Go to ftp://extranet.kutana.co.uk/Kappris
and download and install the latest x64 version of Kappris, currently Kappris.x64.1.7.11.5835.msi, making sure you have a valid Kappris licence.xml file. Skip this step if you already have the latest Kappris installed.
Go to ftp://extranet.kutana.co.uk/Kappris/TonerSaver
and download the zip file 20121225_TonerSaver3(1503)_client_x64.zip
Expand the contents of the TonerSave zip file into a new local folder.
Run an Administrative Command Prompt and then cd into the new folder. Run the following command at the Administrative Command Prompt. Note - these command line switches are important. Note also that the INSTALLDIR is different to the x86 one.

```
Go to ftp://extranet.kutana.co.uk/Kappris/TonerSaver
and download and install TonerSaverPrerequisites.x64.5464.msi The folder also contains the zipped msi file if you or your firewall prefer that format.

Both Platforms

Once the installation steps are complete, run the TSSettings.exe program from the Kutana\TonerControl folder, and go to the License Information tab. If all is well you should see the Licensee and Expiry date fields have values from the Kappris xml licence file. If you do not see this information, check that you can run the kpmgr program, as that will only run if a valid Kappris licence.xml file exists.
