From Kappris V2.2.2.11147 onwards, when using Word, Outlook or Excel, Kappris can check for availability of the Central Configuration folder. If it doesn't find it then it will allow you to work offline without error.
The default for Kappris is NOT to check for availability of the Central Configuration.
To activate checking for remote workers who will not have access, set the following entry in config.ini:
[Computer]
Check Config Status=True
If this entry is False or missing, the check will not be performed.
